Corrosion and corrosion protection
The word "corrosion" is derived from the latin word "corrodere" (="to gnaw away"). Corrosion is the reaction
of a metallic material with its environment. This reaction effects a measureable change of the material
and can cause impairment of the function of a metallic component or of a whole system. There are several
techniques in order to avoid corrosion. Controlled corrosion treatments will increase a material's corrosion
resistance (corrosion protection).
We offer comprehensive corrosion engineering services including:
- root cause failure analysis
- corrosion prevention services
- expert witness services
- corrosion control services
